Not allowed in your house? It is only a matter of time before that house is your most private place. When we are not allowed to do something, we are not allowed to do it.
The real problem with this phrase is the idea that there is some kind of law. The law is there to protect us and protect us only. The law is there to protect us from ourselves. We can’t have a “self-restrictive regime” if we don’t have a “self-restrictive regime” to keep us from breaking the law.
If we cant have a self-restrictive regime that doesnt protect us from ourselves then we would have to have a self-restrictive regime that does protect us from ourselves. There is no such regime. And this is the only reason that the phrase is allowed in the first place.
I know this is not exactly a big deal. But there was a time when the law was not only a law, it was a standard of living. There were certain things that were always illegal to do, and they were the same things that were always illegal to have and they were the things that were always illegal to have on Earth. In those days it was only illegal to have a gun (or rather, just about anything that could shoot).
This is not exactly a new thing. But the point is, if your government allows something to be illegal, then it’s no longer a regulation but something else entirely. And this is the point that most people overlook or not even realize.
Most regulations and restrictions are just another layer or layer upon another layer. The more layers you add to something, the more difficult it is to remove. All it takes is one more layer and you’ve got a whole new set of regulations and restrictions. Like the whole point of a good law is to get the government to stop messing around with your laws.
It’s not just the government who messes around with our laws. It’s the real life police, too. Every time a police officer approaches a potential criminal, he’ll get a little bit more intense. He’ll get the cop a little less subtle. He’ll get the cop a little less subtle. And you know what? It won’t stop. It never will. You’ve just got to deal with it.
The point is that cops are human, and they will mess up. The thing is that they will mess up all the time. They are human too, but they are far better at screwing up when they fail to do that which they are supposed to.
Not only do cops fail, they fail often. And they still fail. And they fail frequently still. And they make mistakes. And a lot of time, they screw up. So it’s not that cops don’t screw up, it’s that they screw up frequently and fail frequently still. And you know what that means. It means that cops are human, and they’ll screw up. They’ll screw up constantly.
That’s why a guy like Jared Loughner is on my list of people who make my life a living hell. I think I have probably made at least one comment about cops in the last week. I have no problem with you, Loughner, but it is my duty to keep track of you.
