I’ve been on hiatus from Photoshop for the last month or so. I’ve been doing a lot of work on my site, which includes a new layer shortcut. It’s not nearly as useful as it was when I first got it, and also takes longer to create, but it will add a layer to your Photoshop menu.

Layer shortcuts can be accessed in the Layer menu by clicking the minus icon in the top right of the window, then selecting Layer > Layer Shortcut. You can set the shortcut to any of Photoshop’s default shortcuts or your own you can use.

The new shortcut is called “Layer Shortcut gt Layer.” To use it you must drag up or down on the layer stack and select the layer you want to create a shortcut to. There are no options to add a layer to the menu, so you can either do all the work in Photoshop, or switch to Photoshop with the Layer Shortcut gt Layer shortcut.

As an added bonus, the new shortcut also lets you save the shortcut as a layer style. You can do this by selecting Layer Shortcut gt Layer and then right clicking the layer and choosing Choose Layer Style. You can drag the layer style down or away from your image.

You can also create a shortcut that uses the layer stack, but in this case you would have to select Layer Shortcut gt Layer and then right click the layer and choose Create Layer Style from the shortcut menu.

The shortcut technique allows you to save the shortcut as a layer style. Then when you need to use the shortcut, you can simply select Layer Shortcut and the layer style will be applied automatically. You can also create a shortcut that uses the layer stack. In this case though, you would have to select Layer Shortcut gt Layer and then right click the layer and choose Create Layer Style from the shortcut menu.

This shortcut technique is what’s making new layer styles available for download for the first time. If you’ve never seen shortcut photoshop, it’s a program that allows you to create a new layer, edit it in place, and save the layer as a layer style. It’s also possible to combine layers in order to create new style layers, and to apply layer styles to layers.
