The big three succulent plants that have taken over our country and are now everywhere. There are more of them today than ever before, which is why I am so excited to showcase these gorgeous and well-known succulents that will be available soon at my farm stand. I had an opportunity to try some of the larger, more expensive succulents in an attempt to find out which ones I would like to use as dinner tonight. There are a lot of succulents out there, so I wanted to try them all. I chose the largest one, Ipomoea, for a number of reasons. Ipomoea is an incredibly beautiful succulent with deep red roots that look like they’ve been painted by the sun.
Ipomoea is a lot of fun to eat and it does a great job of complementing foods like rice and pasta. It also tastes great, so just add some pepper to your meal. And don’t worry about the fact that Ipomoea is supposed to be a “succulent” plant. It’s actually a member of the Asphodelaceae family which includes several species of succulent plants.
I love Ipomoea because its roots are so vibrant and intense that it almost looks like they’re in the middle of a field. And in a landscape I always wish for, its root system is a bit of a no-brainer. The leaves of Ipomoea are also a brilliant shade of red, which I find pretty. And the fact that the leaves are both edible and beautiful is reason enough to put it on your list of “must haves”.
The thing I love most about Ipomoea is the fact that Ipomoea plants, like many succulents, are also edible and not just leaves.
